Architect's Statement.

The L Shape House is an engaging and versatile small architectural home suited to both urban and rural settings.

From the street, silvertop ash vertical shiplap cladding is combined with deep recessed windows to provide high levels of privacy and noise protection. Upon entering the home you’ll immediately notice large north facing floor-to-ceiling windows which capture plenty of natural light and open onto a large private outdoor space.

The unique L shaped floor plan provides a distinct separation between the two primary functions of the home, living and sleeping - meaning you won’t wake the kids during that late night dinner party! We’ve also included a sun lounge, study, and flexible bedroom/airbnb (not to mention the option for a fourth bedroom and garage) to ensure that this design is as adaptable as possible.

Like all Architopia designs, this home will effectively heat and cool itself, harvest its own rainwater, and produce enough energy for a family of four. For a small to medium sized site with directional views, or where privacy is desired, the L Shape House is a flexible home suited to a range of lifestyles.
